Sandy Douvarjo moved to Blue Hill Peninsula with her husband Peter Douvarjo and daughter back in 1982. The trip started as a vacation, but once they arrived they could tell there was something special about the area. One could say it was when they breathed in the crisp air, saw the captivating landscape, or spoke to the friendly townsfolk that they found a new home. It only took two weeks until the Douvarjo family came back to Blue Hill Maine and they have never left since.

It took some time before Sandy found her calling as a real estate broker. It was not until 1989 when Sandy took the plunge and became a full time broker. Come 2003, she had built a substantial network and thought it was time to start her own business, which is when she acquired Peninsula Property Rentals. Sandy took a company in its infancy, only handling 20 rental cottages, and through her determination grew the company to a staggering 60-80 cottages every summer. In 2015, Sandy has gone back to her roots of real estate sales and now handles a modest amount of rental properties which allows her to ensure her high standard of customer care.

Sandy’s company growth came from her commitment to personalized service for every renter and cottage owner. It is because of this goal that she has never handled more than 80 cottages at any given time. She has also continued to work solo to maintain her very high standards and ethics.

Sandy enjoys meeting with renters because it allows her the chance to understand their individual vacation needs which in turn enables her to match each renter to an appropriate Maine vacation cottage or home. Nothing brings her more joy than hearing from renters that are delighted with their rental cottage choices.
